BH Cosmetics Take Me To Brazil Palette

Hiiii! Happy Thursday! I hope you are having a wonderful day so far! I figured I would continue on with the palette reviews. This is a mini review and swatches of the Take Me to Brazil Palette from BH Cosmetics. Here it is with 30 shadows: some matte, some shimmer, some satin.

Here are the stock photos of the palette:

This is what it says on BH Cosmetics : "Wild and exotic colors await you inside the Take me to Brazil, 30 Color Eyeshadow Palette! This fantastic collection of shimmer, satin and matte eyeshadows is inspired by the outrageous Brazilian parade, Carnival! Get ready to Samba with this highly pigmented rainbow of colors in reds, pinks, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, and purples. Featuring 2 extra-large bonus eyeshadows in iridescent white and matte black that will help you add glow and mystery to your finished look!"

So I love colour and I was exited for the yellows, reds and oranges that you don't often see in palettes but I wasn't really expecting a lot when it came to quality. Here are the swatches:

With Flash: (top to bottom left to right on the palette = top to bottom on my hand)

And Without Flash: (top to bottom left to right on the palette = top to bottom on my hand)

I wish that Bh gave names to all their colours because I do like some of them a lot and I wish I could just name them all so you guys know. Some of the matte shades were kind of chalky and took a couple swipes to even get any kind of colour payoff, others were super pigmented and creamy. Really about 50% of the shadows I liked and will for sure use, and about 50% I really didn't like and probably won't ever use. I didn't use these wet as I don't think that will change a whole lot.  That "iridescent white" I was super excited for but it isn't very pigmented at all so I was kind of disappointed. But for what it costs and the amount of shadows, even if you only count the better quality ones that you will use, it is worth it.

The palette is priced at $19.95 but it is often on sale. Right now it is on sale for $6.95!! Yep $6.95 I couldn't believe it when I checked the price! Definitely worth $7 for sure! It's also rated 4.8 stars out of 5 on their website so check it out for yourself! Shop this palette here=> BH Cosmetics! Happy shopping! Xx

Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna Palette

Hi! Happy Saturday!!! Here is the Tamanna palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills! Tamanna Roashan (aka @dressyourface) has almost 1 million followers on Instagram and has over 12 years under her belt as a makeup artist and beauty educator. When I saw that Anastasia was releasing a collab pallete with her, I knew I had to have it!

The palette is beautiful and has 10 smooth colours that you can use either wet or dry. The palette also comes with a dual ended shadow brush that fits in the palette. I love that! It makes it super convenient for travel! Here is the caption found on www.sephora.ca, "Inspired by a makeup masterclass on East Asian bridal makeup taught by Tamanna Roashan at the Anastasia Beverly Hills salon, this palette offers a collection of rich, versatile fall shades that compliment all skintones. The formulas are highly pigmented and wear wet to dry with intense payoff and a velvety smooth finish. "

Inside the box there are 5 look cards that have a step by step guide on the back to recreating each look!

The colours are fresh, blush, venezia, gilded, custom, sangria, bengal, chocolate, china rose and noir. Here is a picture with flash:

And without flash:

Now from reading the caption on www.AnastasiaBeverlyHills.com, "This collection of versatile shadows constitutes Tamanna’s “must have” shades to achieve her most requested looks on any skin tone. The combination of warm and cool tones combine to create anything from smokey eyes to intricate cut creases, all from a single palette. Specially formulated, high-impact pigments in rich neutrals and shimmering jewel tones go on smoothly and eliminate the need for overbuilding when applying. " I was expecting a higher colour payoff when dry. It was a little bit disappointing and underwhelming. Here are the swatches : (from top to bottom with flash- fresh, blush, venezia, gilded, custom, sangria, bengal, chocolate, china rose and noir.)

(From top to bottom without flash- fresh, blush, venezia, gilded, custom, sangria, bengal, chocolate, china rose and noir.)
As you can see, they are all shimmer shades except, Fresh, Chocolate and Noir which are matte. Bengal is quite matte too but if you look carefully there is a tiny bit of shimmer in it. The colours are very beautiful and creamy smooth, but they really just aren't super pigmented like I had hoped. The black however, (noir) had a bit more payoff than the rest and is a very black, black!

Here are the colours wet! Here they are with the flash: (top to bottom- fresh, blush, venezia, gilded, custom, sangria, bengal, chocolate, china rose and noir.)

And without the flash (top to bottom-fresh, blush, venezia, gilded, custom, sangria, bengal, chocolate, china rose and noir.)

The colour wet are simply AMAZING and make this palette worth every penny!! The payoff is there, it still super creamy and easy to blend! I am in LOVE!

In Canada you can purchase this at Sephora.ca for $35 and in the USA you can find it almost anywhere for $29, but I would advise you to order it from Anastasia directly (http://anastasiabeverlyhills.com/makeup/tamanna-palette.html) or Sephora just to make sure you are not getting a fake palette. (Yes knockoffs exist everywhere!)

Here is the promotional announcement and the Instagram post from Anastasia Beverly Hills:

So even though the pigmentation isn't as high as I was expecting when it is dry, overall I am still super happy with this palette. If I was to use it only wet it would be worth it to me! I can see and agree that the colours do what they are supposed to and they really do seem to be flattering to people of all skin tones. I will probably mostly use this wet as I just cannot stress enough how amazingly gorgeous they are wet!

When you look at pricing, at only $35 for 10 shades, you really are getting each shade for $3.50 which is a steal for a professional brand shadow! In my opinion you get more than you pay for in this case! This palette is so versatile that not only do you need it for you but it makes the perfect gift! Thanks Anastasia Beverly Hills for making such a great product! Happy makeup shopping!! Xx

BH Cosmetics Wild Palettes

Hiiii! I'm going to do a mini review of the BH cosmetics Wild Palettes. They released 3 wild palettes : Wild Child, Wild at Heart and Wild & Free. They are awesome baked eye shadow palettes and cost $20 each. BH is great about sales tho and most of the time they have palettes on sale from 40-60% off. These are the great selling points found on the site.
  • Nine Baked Eyeshadows, 1-inch Round
  • Paraben Free
  • Oil Free
  • Can be Used Wet or Dry
  • Clinically Tested
  • Non-Irritating
  • Allergy Tested
Here is the link that will take you straight to the wild palettes : BH Cosmetics Wild Palettes

Okay so the first one is Wild Child, probably the most natural and neutral colours of the 3. Very soft and buttery colours, most are quite pigmented and rarely need more than one swipe to get the desired colour. Here is the palette with the flash:

And without the flash:

As you can see they are all shimmer shades. Here are the swatches without primer with flash: (from top to bottom left to right in the palette is top to bottom on my arm)

And without flash:

Okay so the next one is Wild & Free:

This palette has more of the blues and greens. I love it! Also very pigmented and smooth. All shimmer shades here as well. This palette is great for a natural look and also if you want a pop of colour! Here it is with the flash:

And without the flash:

And here are my swatches again from top to bottom left to right in the palette as top to bottom on my arm. With flash:

And without flash:

And last but not least is the Wild at Heart palette.

This is the one with more pinks in it but also has some neutrals in it too. Again all shimmer shades. In my opinion this palette is the one with the least colour payoff. Here it is with the flash:

And without:

And my swatches here are again from top to bottom, left to right in the palette and top to bottom on my arm. With flash:

Of the 3 I think the best colour payoff was the Wild & Free palette. They are worth the money for sure though. If I had to choose 1 out of the 3, I don't think I could. I honestly would just say buy them all because the price is amazing and you get 27 great baked shadows!
